St. CatherineÕs Gathering Space
Those present: Fr. Tom Jennings, Sue Buffington, Sue Linebeck, Bill Deutsch, Sharon Deutsch, Virginia Gerken, Tillie Clark, and Connie Wieneke.
Fr. Jennings opened the meeting with a short prayer and reading. The previousÕ months minutes were accepted.
Fr. reminded us of JRLC day – March 25, 2010.
Fr. gave a short update on healthcare reform.
Father and Bill Deutsch reported the parish Christmas projects all went well with with positive feedback. 16 baskets were delivered to Parkview Manor from St. MaryÕs. St CatherineÕs numbers were unavailable at the time of the meeting.
St. CatherineÕs will have the Baby Bottle Collection for Helping Hands on January 24th. St. MaryÕs date is yet to be determined.
There are no definite plans for the World Hunger Banquet. This will continue to be discussed.
Fr. advised Nicole Paladie has resigned her position with the diocese.
Habitat Sunday will be held in March. Mary Lou will give a report at the next meeting. She was absent due to illness at this meeting.
The group will recommend the Februrary LCCW meeting be canceled due to policitical caucusÕ that night.
Fr. will remind parish to donate to the Haitian Earthquake Relief and give to reputable charities.
St. CatherineÕs has the food shelf in February.
There will be a Vocations Fair on January 27th. Both adults and students are invited to attend.
Sharon gave a report on the Elizabeth Ministry.
Fr. updated the group on the ValentineÕs concert to be held at St. CatherineÕs on Feb, 14th. Emily Lodine will be the featured performer. We will serve Valentine themed desserts. Free will offering will benefit Haitian Relief.
Next meeting will be February 3rd @ 6:00 pm in the Gatherine Space. Fr. will see if we can reschedule Tammy Moeller to speak with our group regarding the parish nurse program. Fr. mentioned we may need to hold monthly meetings due to the lengthy agendas and increased parish activity.
