The January meeting of the LCCW began on January 8, 2008 at about 7 PM.

Patty Evans opened the meeting with the Prayer in Honor of Our Lady of Good Counsel.

Mary Lou Mulligan read the minutes from the December meeting.  They were approved as read.

Joan Langford presented the Treasurer's report.  The opening balance was $4563.55 and after additions from the cookie sale and some expenditures, we had a balance of $4265.61.  They were approved as read.

CORRESPONDENCE

We received thank you notes from some of those to whom we gave Christmas gifts.

NEW BUSINESS

The Pro-Life Baby Bottle Collection will take place on the weekend of January 19th and 20th.  Sue Buffington is chairing the event.  Diane Gonnerman volunteered to help on both dates.  We approved a $50 gift to Gina Jarchow Newman and her daughters who will sing a special song after Mass.

We talked about the upcoming pro-life rally at the LHS small auditorium on January 21 at 7PM.

We had discussions about two projects for December 08.  They were the Volunteer Open House and the decorating of 3 holiday trees.  We felt that we already had several Christmas things going on and that we would have trouble getting workers.  One idea was to offer parishioners the chance to decorate a tree in honor of a family member.  We have decorations and trees, they would only have to decorate them.  They could use their own decorations, if they would rather.  Another idea was that Faith Formation classes could do a tree.  Patty will visit with Father Tom about the Dec. 2008 events.
