Our regular meeting began at 7 PM on February 12, 2008.  Norma Stewart began the meeting with the CCW Prayer in honor of Our Lady of Good Counsel.

Mary Lou Mulligan read the minutes from the January meeting and they were approved as read.

Joan Langford gave the treasurer's report showing an opening balance of $4265.61 and after a few additions and subtractions the ending balance was $4171.06.  The report was approved as read.

CORRESPONDENCE

We received thank you notes for Christmas gifts from several people including Katie Baustian, Jennifer Iveland, the Minnesota Veterans home, Marie Wiegel, and from Father Tom.  The Helping Hands Pregnancy center wrote to thank us for $183.67 and for the baby clothing and blankets that were delivered by Sue Buffington.  The Malget Family thanked us for the meal that was served following the funeral of their loved one.

OLD BUSINESS

We discussed how we could possibly handle the Volunteer Open House in December of 2008.  What exactly are the number of people that would attend?  Should we have it catered?  Where should we have it?  We need a chair for this event.  We will keep it on the agenda for next month.

We had a short mention of the poinsettia project for next Christmas.  We will keep it on our old business agenda.

NEW BUSINESS

Harveen Gluf gave a report on the Area CCW which was held on January 26 at 10 AM.  They decided to start an online newsletter called Connecting Catholic Women.  She would like to get as many email addresses as possible to make the newsletter a reality.  She will put an announcement in the bulletin. She said that the next deanery meeting will be in Sherburne in early April and the Diocesan meeting will be in Fulda later that month.

Patty Evans received a call from Ruth Rogers announcing World Day of Prayer. It will be celebrated at the Methodist church on March 7 at 1:30 PM.  They needed a reader from our parish and Sue Buffington volunteered to fulfill that duty.

Mary Lou Mulligan asked if anyone would like to attend a Day on the Hill on March 13 in St. Paul.  The churches in Worthington have reserved buses and we could carpool over there to catch a ride.  There will be an announcement in the bulletin.

March 5 is our date to serve at the Banquet in Sioux Falls.  We discussed the need for a volunteer coordinator.  There are sign up sheets for volunteers and donations in the Gathering Space.  Also someone will need to prepare a prayer.

We discussed the Easter Vigil Fellowship on February 22.  Harveen, Norma, Joan, Connie Wieneke, Neva Clausen, Sue Buffington, Diane Gonnerman and Mary Lou all volunteered to bring a pan of bars.  Those that will be there that night will work at the event.  Diane will provide some Easter theme napkins.

We hope to have Mother Daughter banquet this year.  We will check with Sue Linebeck to see if she wants to chair this event again.  We think that early May is when we usually have it.  Confirmation is May 4 and that may have an influence on choosing a date as well as the Priest Appreciation Potluck.

Norma adjourned the meeting with the Hail Mary.

While we enjoyed ÒSweets for the SweetÓ we listened to a CD, which Harveen got at the National Convention.  It featured a Catholic author and speaker named Matthew Kelly.  His subject was Living Your Dreams.  We each received a copy of the CD.
